What it does

Three things no other reader does together.

Auris Reader combines neural text-to-speech, real-time contextual translation and adaptive PDF detection in a single desktop app that keeps your library on your device. Start with a 14‑day free trial — cancel anytime.

Spanish neural voices, no compromise

Listen to EPUB and PDF books with natural-sounding neural voices. Spanish ready out of the box (Spain and Mexico accents), with more languages rolling out throughout 2026. Adjust speed without pitch artifacts and keep your place across sessions.

  • EPUB 2/3 and PDF, including multi-column scientific
  • Adjustable speed, pitch and pause length
  • Predictive pre-buffering, no gaps between sentences

Contextual translation as you listen

Translate your reading in real time without losing context. Auris Reader remembers character names, technical terms and ongoing references with a sliding-window memory that keeps translations consistent across chapters.

  • Online translation in 50+ languages; offline packs coming in 2026
  • Persistent entity glossary per book
  • Translates while the TTS keeps playing

Adaptive PDF cleaning

Read complex PDFs without garbled output. Auris Reader detects headers, footers, columns and footnotes automatically, so the voice reads what you would actually read — not the page numbers, not the metadata, not the artifacts.

  • Multi-column scientific papers
  • Footnote re-ordering on the fly
  • Hyphenation and line-break repair

The highlight you hear

The line glows the instant the voice reaches it.

Every word is synced with the audio. An adaptive predictive pipeline keeps the highlight, the buffer and the translation in lockstep — so your eyes can follow, or rest. Your call.

How it works

From file to voice in under a minute.

No accounts to start, no cloud upload, no DRM headaches. Open a book on your computer and press play. That is it.

  1. Open your file

Drop any EPUB or PDF into Auris Reader. Files never leave your device unless you explicitly enable online voices.

  2. Pick a voice

Choose between Spanish neural voices from Spain or Mexico, or stick with the default. Adjust speed to taste. More languages rolling out throughout 2026.

  3. Listen and translate

Press play. The highlight follows the voice in real time. Toggle translation on the fly to hear and read in another language at the same time.

Made for serious readers

“Your library, your pace, your language — without sending a single page to anyone’s servers.”

Auris Reader design principle

Why Auris Reader

The only reader that does all of this in one place.

Most TTS apps stream from the cloud and stop at reading aloud. Auris Reader adds contextual translation, adaptive PDF cleanup and a library that never leaves your device — all in one app.

Frequently asked

Common questions about Auris Reader

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The Starter plan includes a 14-day free trial. We collect your payment method at sign-up so the subscription auto-renews on day 15 — Starter is €4.99/month (or €49/year) for up to 2 documents per day. Pro and Premium plans, for heavier daily use, arrive in 2026. Cancel anytime before day 15 to avoid any charges.

Does it work without internet?

Auris Reader uses high-quality online neural voices by default, with a built-in offline fallback voice on Windows when the connection drops. Your books are never uploaded either way — with online voices, only the sentence being synthesized is sent. Downloadable offline translation packs are on the 2026 roadmap.

Which file formats are supported?

EPUB 2, EPUB 3 and PDF — including multi-column scientific PDFs. Auris Reader works with DRM-free files and reads the text layer inside a PDF, so digital PDFs and scans that already contain text work. Its adaptive cleaner filters headers, footers and artifacts so the voice reads the actual content, not the noise.

Which languages can I read in?

Auris Reader ships with 8 neural voices in Spanish and English, and free downloadable voice packs add French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Dutch, Polish, Swedish and Romanian — over 20 voices in 10 languages, each with a male and a female option. The app interface is available in English and Spanish, with free French, Italian, German and Portuguese interface packs. Online contextual translation supports 50+ languages; downloadable offline translation packs are on the 2026 roadmap.

Do my books get uploaded anywhere?

No. Auris Reader is a desktop app: your EPUB and PDF files stay on your device. The only outbound traffic is the audio request to Microsoft Edge TTS (if you enable online voices) and an optional license check — never the content of your books.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows 10 and 11 (signed installer), and Linux (.deb for Debian/Ubuntu). The Android app is available on Google Play. There is no iOS version yet.

How do I cancel?

From your account, in a couple of clicks, at any time — no phone call, no retention offers. Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Your account and your local library stay, so you can re-subscribe later. Deleting your account is a separate action.

What happens to my data if I close my account?

Closing your account cancels your subscription and starts a 30-day window in which you can export all your data or reactivate the account. After 30 days we delete your account and its operational data. Invoices are kept for as long as the law requires. The library files on your device are always yours.
